Rabat, Morocco, March 17, 2016 - IOC President Thomas Bach ended a four-day visit to North Africa yesterday, in Rabat, Morocco, where discussions centred on the preparation of athletes for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the need to protect clean athletes.

Beach volleyball Olympic hopefuls and Moroccan Federation President Bouchra Hajij welcomed the IOC President during a visit to the facilities made available to the Moroccan sporting elite, where Mr Bach was particularly keen to meet and exchange thoughts with the athletes working towards the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The popularity of beach volleyball continues to grow in Morocco, who were represented by Irkam Ettayfi and Mahassine Siad at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in the Netherlands in 2015.
