After nine days of exciting action at the Iconic Birds Nest Stadium in Beijing China the 15th Edition of the IAAF World Athletics Championships has finally come to a close and the final results of the best performers at this 2015 version of the Games saw the smaller East African Nation of Kenya atop of the Medal table followed closely behind by Jamaica.
Below these two smaller nations is the USA, the former bastion of the sport of Track & Field which has slowly loosened its grip of dominance of the sport as other nations around the world catch up to it.

Kenya a nation of approximately 45 million people has a very strong tradition in the sports dating as far back as the 1960’s when athletes like Kip Keino became household names taking on the likes of Jim Ryun of the USA at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. It is no secret that since the 60’s Kenya has dominated distance running events and to a great extent, the name Kenya is now synonymous with Distance running. Recently however they have improved drastically in other areas of the sports like Field events such as the Javelin Throw and the Short and long sprints like the 400 meters Hurdles and these events together with their usual dominance in the distance events saw them beat Super Powers like the USA, Russia, Great Britain and many more. The total tally at the end saw them come away from Beijing with 7 Gold, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals that gave them a total of 16 medals.
Jamaica with a strong tradition in the sprints and stars like Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce and Usain Bolt have all but locked down the medals in the discipline and defeated the USA soundly coming away with 7 Gold’s, 2 Silvers and 3 Bronze medals for a total of 12 medals.
The USA rounded up the top three finishing with 6 Gold’s, 6 Silver’s and 6 Bronze Medals for a total of 18 medals.
