
Brazzaville, Congo, January 6, 2015- African giants Tunisia and Egypt were drawn together in Pool A of the African Men's Olympic Qualification Tournament due to start in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo on Thursday.
The competition favourites will also line up against a third great team, hosts Republic of the Congo, the 2015 All Africa Games silver medallists.
The seven teams will compete for one ticket to qualify directly for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The second and third placed teams will earn another opportunity to qualify through the Men’s Intercontinental Olympic Qualification Tournament due to be held in the period from May 14 to June 5, 2016.
The drawing of lots was held on Wednesday in presence of CAVB President Dr. Amr Elwani and Local Organising Committee President Jean Mopita.
The opening day features Tunisia against the Republic of the Congo in Pool A, while Cameroon face the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Algeria meet Nigeria in Pool B.
