Libero Mohamed Meawad will be a key player for Egypt in next month's Olympic qualifier in Congo Brazzaville
Cairo, Egypt, December 24, 2015 - The Egypt men's volleyball team will start the final stage of preparations for the 2016 Men's African Olympic qualifiers to be hosted by Congo Brazzaville from January 7 to 14 as they enter a training camp in Finland on Sunday.
Cairo, Egypt, December 24, 2015 - The Egypt men's volleyball team will start the final stage of preparations for the 2016 Men's African Olympic qualifiers to be hosted by Congo Brazzaville from January 7 to 14 as they enter a training camp in Finland on Sunday.
The week-long camp runs until January 2 and will include three friendly matches against the Finland national team.
Egypt has qualified three times to the Olympics in the past including Los Angeles in 1984, Sydney in 2000 and Beijing in 2008.
The technical staff, led by the Italian head coach Gulineli Flavio, who took over the Egyptian coaching job just a few weeks ago, will select the final squad of 14 players after the camp.
Experienced outside hitter Mohamed Abdelmoniem and middle blocker Mohamed Adel will miss the qualification tournament due to injury.
