The 2016 four-leg circuit of the FINA/NVC Diving World Series is about to kick-off, with a first rendezvous to be held in Beijing (CHN) this weekend, from March 11-13.
67 international elite divers, 34 women and 33 men, from 12 countries* are announced to take part in this first leg that will be hosted in the National Aquatics Centre, the "Water Cube”.

Many diving Olympic and World legends are among the competitors for this weekend: USA's Olympic champion David Boudia, last year's overall Series winner Jack Laugher (GBR), FINA Diving World Cup champions Cao Yuan, Liu Huixia and Shi Tingmao of China. Experienced Australian and Malaysian athletes such as Esther Qin, Melissa Wu and Pandelela Pamg will also ensure the show in Beijing. Strong delegations will also come from Canada, Italy and Russia. Ten events are on the programme; the men’s 3m and 10m, the women’s 3m and 10m, the synchronised 3m and 10m events (men and women), and the mixed 3m and 10m. The spectacular mixed events were first introduced to the Diving World Series programme last year.
The overall prize money of the 2016 Series sums up to US$ 1.3 million.
The FINA Diving World Series had been held in the Beijing Water Cube since 2011, for 5 years consecutive years. Team China clinched all gold at stake at four Beijing legs.
The event will be live streamed on FINA TV and Live Feed information will be available on FINA website during the weekend.
