David Lekuta Rudisha of Kenya ; the World record holder and best 800 meters runner in history once again staved off challengers and all comers to defend his Title at the New York Adidas Diamond League grand prix meet at Icahn Stadium in Randall’s Island, New York to win his race and defend his title with a time of 1:43.58.
Rudisha who has become a fixture at this meet in New York is a fan favorite and as he strode through two laps building a sizable gap halfway through the race between him and his challengers, fans cheered him on. With his signature style of running in front and holding off his competition David Rudisha once again destroyed his competition as he has always done at this stadium with Boris Berian of the USA coming in second with a time of 1:43.84 followed closely by Frenchman Pierre-Ambroise Bosse in third place with a time of 1:43.88.
