The much anticipated Senior African Athletics Championships kicked off in Durban South Africa on Wednesday June 22nd 2016 with Fanfare and a Parade of Nations.
With some big names like Akani Simbine of South Africa, Muriel Ahoure of the Ivory Coast and Gerald Phiri of Zambia on hand to lift the profile of the meet the organizers who have been praised thus far for a rather well organized event, put up a spectacular display of an opening ceremony that involved the display of the cultures of the Rainbow Nation that South Africa has come to be known.
