The Zambian outfit enjoys a two point lead at the summit of the standings with six points, three more than hosts Recreativo do Libo, whom they beat 1-0 in the previous meeting between the two sides a fortnight ago in Ndola.
The Ndola-based outfit is desperate for the precious three points because, which could see them solidify the position at the top.
For Libolo, they will be hoping for a return to winning ways after successive defeats on the road, 2-0 against Smouha of Egypt in Alexandria and 1-0 against Zesco.
Meanwhile, Zesco will be without their top scorer Jesse Were, who has three goals so far, due to injury.
Were sustained a thigh injury on national duty with Kenya during last weekend’s Total Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2019 qualifier against Sierra Leone in Freetown.
“Definitely we will miss him, but I believe we have other players who can do the job,” Banda said.
On the other hand, Zesco coach Zlatko Krmpotic believes he still has depth in attack and is banking on Idris Mbombo, who scored the lone goal against Recreativo do Libolo in the reverse two weeks ago with the support of Jackson Mwanza and John Chingandu for goals.
Meanwhile, Zesco will be without midfielder Kondwani Mtonga, who is suspended and
Anthony Akumu, who was sent off in the reverse against Recreativo do Libolo.
The Angolans too have suspension issues with midfielder Celson Joao Costa also set to miss out after red card in the previous meeting between the two sides.
Sudanese debutants Hilal Obeid will host Smouha in the other Group C match in Obeid.
