Bawku based Yusif Amadu who participated in the Desert Challenge in the USA and won Gold in High Jump and Shot Putt hinted that he does not get the needed attention and support, but wants to make name for himself and the nation, Ghana.
Amadu, Aleem Mumuni (Cyclist) and Tetteh Narh (Power lifter) are the three para athletes who will raise the flag of Ghana in Brazil.
At a fund raising ceremony to solicit funds for the contingent, Deputy Minister of Women, Gender and Social Protection, Hon Dela Sowah said disability is not inability and hope the three sportsmen will go well by winning medals. She noted that they have the potential and should be supported.
Saka Akwei, Deputy Director at the National Sports Authority (NSA) who is also chef de mission to the Paralympic Games said everything depends on funds and he hoped corporate Ghana is going to support the sportsmen to raise the flag of Ghana high.
