Sierra Leone’s wait for its first Commonwealth Games medal continue after its female wrestler, Hajaratu Kamara suffered technical point defeat to England's Georgina Nelthorpe in the 76 Kg fight at the Carrara Sports Arena 1 on Thursday April 12th 2018.
In the Men's Freestyle 74 kg 1/8 final, Sierra Leone’s Abdulai Salam went down to South African Johannes Botha who won by technical superiority with points scored. Salam also suffered defeat in the Men's Freestyle 74 kg Repechage Round 2 this time losing to Welsh Curtis Dodge.
Dodge walked away with a ‘Victory by Fall’ after securing 6-4 win over the West Africa wrestler. Sierra Leone’s next fight will come up on Saturday April 14 with David Conteh battling against Melvin Bibo of Nigeria in the Men's Freestyle 86 kg 1/4 final.
