Arguably this season two best basketball stars; Oladipo Robin-Coker and Mohamed ‘Toshiba’ Sesay will go head-to head today, Friday February 17th 2017 in the first of a best of three clash in this year’s Western Area inter-club basketball championship grand-finale.
Robin-Coker and his Youngman Sports Club (YSC) would be fighting to regain their Western Area title when they take on ‘Toshiba’ Sesay’s Archibald Red Flames at the Siaka Steven Stadium basketball court in Freetown.
The third and fourth quarter went to the champion’s way with 55-51 and 85-77 thanks to their key player, Oladipo Robin Coker who finished the night as the team top scorer with 14 points but it was the Royals star, James Bangura who overshadowed the night with his game high of 31 points.
In the other semi-finals, Archibald Red Flames made it to their first grand-finale with a two straight play-off win over Kennedy Nets.
Despite the tournament favorites tag, the Red Flames continued their impressive run with 100-69 win over the Nets in the second game matching their earlier victory 100-76 in game 1.
