Cheik Tiote has resumed training with Côte d'Ivoire at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
The Newcastle United midfielder suffered an ankle injury in a Group D clash against Mali, and has so far missed the final first-phase game against Cameroon as well as the quarter-final against Algeria.
"Tiote has started light training and he is in the squad," disclosed coach Herve Renard at a press briefing on Tuesday. "It will be difficult for him to start the game, but he is in the squad."
Champions in 1992, the Ivorians are now just a match away from a second Cup of Nations final in three years, after they lost the 2012 final to Zambia.
