
On 31st January 2015, Tunisia lost a quarter final match of the CAN 2015 to Equatorial Guinea. The end of the match was marked by incidents on the pitch, during which some actions were directed against the match referee and the CAF officials. On 2 February 2015, the Disciplinary Jury of the CAF rendered a decision condemning the FTF to pay a fine of USD 50,000 and inviting it to send a letter of apology to the CAF. In a decision dated 6 February 2015, the Executive Committee of the CAF endorsed the suspension of the FTF President; Mr. Wadie Jary, pronounced earlier by the CAN Organizing Committee, and fixed a deadline until 31 March 2015 for the FTF to conform to the CAF directives, failing which the Executive Committee of the CAF would disqualify the national team of Tunisia from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
