SuperSport will open up Channel 199 from 1st April 2017 through to 3rd April 2017 to accommodate build-ups, profiles and highlights of past events. Monday’s broadcast will be a repeat of Sunday’s event.
IRONMAN is a triathlon event that takes in a 3.8km swim off the coast, followed by two 90km loops on a cycling course and concludes with four loops of 10.55km for the standard marathon distance.
SuperSport’s production will utilise ten cameras, including one on a jet-ski for the swim leg and two on two helicopters.
Although coverage will be continuous on Channel 199, SuperSport 7 will cross to Port Elizabeth for the finish featuring the elite triathletes.
Channel 199 will be utilised again next weekend for US Masters golf coverage. The main feed will be broadcast on SS1, but an additional feed supplied by Masters organisers will be carried on the overflow channel.
