Owned and operated by SportEngage, SuperBru already has over 1.25 million users that take part in fantasy and predictor games across 11 different sports. Players compete in private leagues against their friends and office colleagues in sponsored leagues for prizes.
One of the group, Andy Wood, turned the game into a website so that a few other people could take part, and SuperBru has grown from there through friends inviting other friends to play. To date, over 374 million picks have been made by SuperBru users across various sporting events.
Wood said: “The plan is to take what we have learnt in South Africa and replicate that in other markets, using marketing spend to kickstart the organic growth. The UK, Australia and USA are the key target markets for our next phase of growth, and we already have a foothold in all three."
“As well as increasing our marketing spend, we are working on a new version of the app, and a redesign of the web and mobile sites, ready for a relaunch in 2017.”
