The former Black Queens safe hands who is the number one choice at Kumasi Fabulous Ladies said the interest in sports in Ghana is rising again and something must be done for the future generations.
The 38 year old says, “In the whole Ghana, there is no one like me”, because she is special and the one and only Abiba Suleimana.
Memunatu Suleimana said the league is where the players are seen so it must be well financed with good sponsorship and prizes should be motivating enough for more girls to play.
She commended the planners of the first FA Cup sponsored by Sanford World Clinic and the players who went to the final where her team, Fabulous Ladies lost to Ghana Police.
She stressed that most female stars quit the game early due to lack of motivation and funds, but some play for pleasure and not think of the monetary rewards which is not encouraging at all.
“If we get good money, many players will stay and play, but we are women and have many problems so we have to face the challenges of the world” she added.
