The African Sports Monthly Staff has decided to name Siya Kolisi the Captain of the South African National Team (the Springboks) for the 2019 Rugby World Cup Campaign as the Athlete of the Month of December for his performance in the field of play in leading his team to a stellar performance throughout the World Cup in Japan and winning the World Cup over the English National Rugby squad.
More significantly African Sports Monthly recognizes Siya Kolisi’s glass ceiling shattering appointment as the first black Team Captain of the Springboks (the South African National Rugby Team).
