Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Director of Competition, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, has debunked claims that the Football Association has parted company with Ghanaian Coach, Sellas Tetteh.
He said: “This is a surprise to me, as far the Football Association is concern, Sellas Tetteh is still the Head Coach of the Sierra Leone national team (Leone Stars) until the Executive Committee of the FA decide otherwise.”
Late reports on social media and other football website stated that that the FA has sacked the Ghanaian Coach and tipped former Leone Stars international skipper Abubakarr Tostao Kamara as the favorite candidate to replace Tetteh.
However, the SLFA are yet to make an official statement with regards the future of the former Ghana U-20 coach after his loan contract runs out as he failed to qualify the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars to the Gabon 2017 African Cup of Nations.
His first loan spell expired in October 2015 after Leone Stars were eliminated in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers by Chad but the 59-year-old continued as caretaker coach after further talks in which the FA decided to extend his job.
