With barely 55 days to go, the Sierra Leone National Games Association through its committee of six will on Friday February 16th, 2018 officially launch the Commonwealth Games training session for athletes that would be competing at the forthcoming games.
According to the Sierra Leone’s Chef de’ Mission, Unisa Deen Kargbo, the committee of six which is made up of members and officials of various sporting disciplines is set to ensure a better participation of the country’s athletes in the Games.
Kargbo further revealed that the training program will help boast the confidence of the athletes before their earlier camping, training and acclimatization in Australia.
It was also revealed that Team Sierra Leone unlike previous games could depart the country’s shores earlier before the games gets underway.
The Chef de’ Mission also revealed that they have completed all registration in time and that they are only waiting for funding from the Ministry to enable all other arrangements including purchasing of uniforms for the official delegation and athletes, alongside paying for camping cost amongst others.
