Sierra Leonean midfielder, Kwame Quee ended his Víkingur Ólafsvík debut day on a sad footing as he was sent off at the eightieth minute mark in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Grindavík in the Iceland league.
The young midfielder who only completed his loaned deal from FC Johansen to the Úrvalsdeild Karla league side last week received a double yellow card in 65 minutes and 82nd minute before being giving the matching order; a decision the club’s manager coach Ejub Purisevic describe as a soft one.
Despite the dismissal, the 20-year-old was very instrumental in the match helping his new side secure their first win in three matches as the move a step forward to ninth place in the league table with three points.
Elsewhere, striker Kei Kamara marked his return to the New England Revolution squad with a goal and an assist as his squad’s ran a 4-0 rout over Real Salt Lake at Gillette Stadium on Saturday evening in the U.S Major League Soccer.
The goal was Kamara’s third of the season and his 89th MLS career goal. He is now tied with Carlos Ruiz in 10th place in the MLS’s all-time goal scoring chart. The striker dedicated the goal to his newborn son who was delivered on Friday.
Attacking midfielder, George Davies helped Floridsdorfer AC secure a 3-0 home win over Wiener Neustadt. The Sierra Leonean who was withdrawn in the 82nd minute set-up Edrisa in the 10th minutes to give the home side the lead.
In Finland, Hassan Sesay saw 61 minutes of action in Lahti 1-0 away defeat to Rops while Abdul Sesay could not strike to help JS Hercules escape a 3-1 defeat on the road to Kraft. Julius Wobay was called to action on Saturday for Olimpija in the Slovenia league. The Sierra Leonean international was brought in at the 87th minute in the team’s 3-1 victory over Domžale.
Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara could not find the net this weekend in the Swedish league but his BK Hacken side secured a 0-1 over Kalmar and the former FC Kallon forward was shown a yellow card while his countryman, Mohamed Buya Turay’s goal assist was not enough for his AFC Eskilstuna as they suffered yet another defeat this time to Norrköping by 1-2.
In Switzerland, Umaru Bangura was substituted in the 73rd minute as FC Zurich secured a 0-3 win over Winterthur. Bangura and his FC Zurich side need only four points to return to elite football in Switzerland.
Alie Sesay and Abu Suma both played a part in IFK Frej 2-2 draw against Helsingborg while in U. second tier league, Michael Lahoud Miami side defeated Indy Eleven 3-2.
