Head Coach of the Sierra Leone national homebased team, Abu Bakarr Tostao Kamara is refusing to give up hopes that his side are out of the CHAN 2018 qualifiers following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Senegal.
The former Leone Stars skipper who watched his side come from a goal down against a 10-man Senegal squad in Freetown and with the Senegalese grabbing an away goal advantage, believes the tie is not over yet.
“Senegal came here and got what they wanted, we can also go there and get what we want, this is football even though it is not going to be an easy task but we are going to work hard and overturn such result away from home,” Tostao said.
Sidi Bara Diop scored the all-important away goal for the Senegalese in the 63rd minute before Kemson Fofanah restored hope for Sierra Leone in the first leg. The return leg tie has been billed for 22nd July 2017 in Dakar with the venue yet to be confirmed by the Senegalese Football Association after the original planed venue, Senegal Demba Diop stadium has been closed following last weekend’s tragic event which saw a wall collapse killing eight people and injuring almost 90.
