Dakar, Senegal, August 6, 2015 – A beach volleyball Candidate Refereeing Course took place at the Dakar Volleyball Development Centre that attracted 15 participants from 11 countries, including three female referees.
Dakar, Senegal, August 6, 2015 – A beach volleyball Candidate Refereeing Course took place at the Dakar Volleyball Development Centre that attracted 15 participants from 11 countries, including three female referees.
The course was run by FIVB Referee instructors and delegates, Mr Jeffrey Brehaut from England and Mr Josephus van Iersel from the Netherlands. The course attracted the interest of Mrs Khary Gaye from the Senegal Ministry of Sport, while the secretary general of the Senegal Volleyball Federation Mr Abdoul Oumar Ba was in attendance for the course’s durationsaa.
The ceremony was covered by numerous press and media from Senegal and reflected the sharp increase in interest in beach volleyball in West Africa over the past five years.
