Semenya, the South African women's 800m record holder and former world champion, stated that she was excited to link up with Famram Solutions as a co-owner and was proud to endorse the flagship product of the PrincessD brand, a division of Famram Solutions – the PrincessD menstrual cup.
"Women’s health, especially menstrual matters is an ongoing issue, particularly in rural communities, and I look forward to playing an important role by assisting in providing a cost-effective solution with the PrincessD menstrual cup."
According to the brand, most girls in rural areas have nothing to use during menstruation and resort to dirty rags, leaves, newspaper, feathers, socks or nothing at all and this keeps them away from school.
Shamila Ramjawan, CEO Famram Solutions said: "I am ecstatic with Caster Semenya being part of the Famram team as we share the same vision and we aim to change many lives globally with the PrincessD menstrual cup. We are happy with the success of the product and through this partnership we can define exciting new opportunities for transforming the lives of girls and women, especially for its eco-friendliness, hygienic benefits and cost-effectiveness."
