The Coca-Cola Schools T20 Challenge offers South Africa’s top 8 school T20 teams the chance of representing and donning the colours of their local franchise teams. For many of them this will present an opportunity to progress to senior franchise ranks.
In addition, Coca-Cola, with the help of Proteas legend, Robin Peterson, will once again be recognising and rewarding the 'Hero of the Day'. The award was launched in 2014 and has already seen some of its recipients achieve big things including Wihan Victor, who is currently on the books of Free State. Wihan won the award in 2014 scoring 113 in 51 balls.
Fetsi Mbele, senior communications manager of brand experience at Coca-Cola Southern and East Africa said: “We are proud to be playing a part in unearthing future cricketing heroes and assisting in the development of South African cricket through our sponsorship of the Coca-Cola Schools T20 Challenge. We can’t wait to see the talent on display at this year’s tournament.”
