MAPUTO (FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women 2016) - Nigerian international Olayinka Sanni has finally joined First Bank for the remainder of the FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women 2016 in Maputo, Mozambique.
With the Bankers enjoying a day rest on Tuesday, the 30-year-old power forward will only make ACCW 2016 debut on Wednesday when they take on the Kenyan side United States International University (USIU).
Although the Nigerians have shown some inconsistency early in the competition, Sanni remains confident.
“They are well prepared and have a great experience. We have talented players in the likes of Nkechi [Akashili], Chioma [Udeaja] and Upe [Atosu]. We just need to play together as a team and we could make a great impact,” she said.
She even made her assessment of the First Bank’s latest win.
“It's was tough but the team is well prepared and I am here to help and have fun.”
Two-time ACCW winners, First Bank have improved their Group B record to 2-1.
