Sierra Leone international midfielder, Alfred Sankoh and the Turkish TFF Lig 1 side, Denizlispor have finally reached an agreement on a 1-year contract extension the club announced on Thursday on their official twitter page, @Denizlispor.
The former Balikesispor midfielder joined the Turkish side as a free agent on a one-year deal in the summer of a 2016. His new contract will run until the summer 2018.
“Thank you Lord for this deal, finally after intense negotiations for months I hope to get a great season with Denizlispor again.” He said. “I pray for an injury free season and may God bless all Denizlispor players with great performances during the season,” Sankoh posted on his official Facebook account.
The Leone Stars midfielder who began his career with Strømsgodset in May 2008 on a loan went on to sign permanently for the club in July of the same year. In July 2012, Sankoh signed a three-year contract with TFF’s First League side Şanlıurfaspor before he moved to Khazar Lankaranon on a two-year deal in July 2014.
He has over 10 caps for the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars since making his debut in a 0-0, draw during the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
