Sierra Leone’s national team, Leone Stars last played in Africa’s football biggest tournament in 1996 and since then have failed to qualify for the showpiece.
“I think preparation of the team is the most important thing. Even if we have Carlo Ancelotti without preparation it is always going to be the same and a difficult mission,” Strasser told African Sports Media Network in an exclusive interview.
“I hope the team prepares well and I have no doubt about the coaches in doing their jobs. I hope and guess that things will come out well but as a player my role is to play well and do my best for the team, my teammate and the country.”
The former A.C Milan midfielder said: "All The new technical team requires is support and prayers. I believe they can help us. I’m positive they will bring the spark and luck needed for us to finally reach the Nations Cup again.”
John Keister was unveiled as the country's senior national team coach last Thursday and he will be assisted by former Leone Stars skippers, Abubakarr Tostao Kamara and John Sama.
