Both parties congress attendance confirmation came on Monday’s meeting at State House which was chaired by the Secretary to the President, Osho Coker and also attracted representatives from the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOC-SL), the Sports Ministry and members of the football family.
According to press statement from the NOC-SL, it was agreed by all parties present that the SLFA congress will be held in Makeni from April 17-19 and that all SLFA delegates from all four regions will participate.
It was also revealed that the SLFA has agreed that the President of the NOC-SL, Dr. Patrick Coker will chair the congress.
For the FA’s reaction the SLFA media officer, Abu Bakar Kamara could not make any comment on the issue as well as both Lions and SRFA which could not be reached for official comments.
It could be recalled that the SLFA earlier stated that the SRFA will not be part of the April congress on the pretext that they had withdrawn their members from the FA but the Chairman of the Bo District Football Association (BDFA), who is also a member of the Southern Region FA, Kofi Deen Nyarko, dismissed such claims saying that the withdrawal of their representative, Samuel Kamara, from the football association executive committee “does not imply we are not part of the SLFA”.
