Karl Ouimette knew his chance would come. Now he just has to take it.
Ouimette has faced tougher circumstances in recent years, however, as his 20-year-old younger sister passed away after a long battle with cancer in 2014, a tragedy that forever changed his life. Nearly two years removed, Ouimette uses his sister’s memory to fuel his play on the pitch and regularly spends time as an advocate for cancer awareness.
The rising star is not only looking to prove himself in MLS, but also on the international stage. The Quebec native has already received 14 caps for his native Canada, playing in five of seven matches during 2018 World Cup Qualifying. With increased playing time on the horizon, Ouimette’s name will be one both Americans and Canadians discuss frequently in the coming months.
