PUMA’s Beat Bolt activation will be in the region of the 10,8km mark in Queen Victoria Street.
A commentator will be stationed about 50m ahead of the activation to motivate runners to make this the fastest 100m of their lives as they attempt to beat Usain Bolt's time. All runners will be notified of their 100m sprint times via sms after the race.
Brett Bellinger, marketing director of PUMA South Africa, said: “PUMA’s Beat Bolt competition is a fun way to generate additional hype on route while encouraging both runner and spectator interaction. Essentially the activation will be a #ForeverFaster 100m sprint. It’s a Beat Bolt competition so of course it will require speed."
