OCEANIA - Sport in the Pacific has traditionally been dominated by male participation, but traditions evolve and transform with the times. Women throughout the Pacific are standing up and expressing their passion and love for sport.
FIBA's Basketball '+' program is helping give women a platform to get involved with the sport they love and become role models in their community. The program is active in five different countries across the Pacific and Asia. In 2016, female participation rates were as high as 46.67% with over 18,000 participants.
