Former Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Presidential aspirant who was disqualified from the August 3rd 2013 presidential race on his association as a Consultant for sports betting company, Mercury International hopes to prove his innocence in the said SLFA match-fixing allegations.
Michael’s legal team which is headed by Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai-who is also Secretary General of the Old Edwardians Football Club, confirmed the news of the injunction.
Rodney Michael who is presently in UK said he was not worried about the FA’s allegation because there is a hidden motive by them (the Football Association).
He said: “The FA considers me an opposition and as such would want to tarnish my image and destroy my reputation I have worked so hard for over my last 28 years in football.”
Super as he is fondly called amongst football stakeholders further revealed that with his legal team now dealing with the matter he has also made his feelings known to FIFA which he said have been referred to the FIFA Disciplinary committee for further investigation.
Rodney alongside 14 others including some current players and referees were suspended on allegations of match-fixing.
