Picking up where she left off in 2018, Naomi Osaka enjoyed a stellar start to her 2019 season - the Japanese star reached the semifinals at the Brisbane International before claiming her second consecutive Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. By lifting the trophy in Melbourne, Osaka became the first Japanese player - man or woman - to ascend to World No.1, earning the WTA Player of the Month for January.
