The 18-year-old playing for SIG Strasbourg possesses a very appealing combination of height and length for a true point guard. His production at the pro level in Basketball Champions League has been developing so far, as he has yet earned a rotation spot in the beginning of this season.
He is an athletic lead guard with natural play-making ability. He finds teammates well off the bounce and always looks to get others involved, mostly out of the pick-and-roll. French prospect can find multiple passing solutions in P&R game as well as he can create his own shot. His court vision and timing of delivery are well advanced for someone at his age. Ntilikina is not overly fast but can play at different speeds due to good change of pace. Strasbourg play-maker gets into the land well and can score in traffic; a tight handle to navigate traffic, change of speeds, the ability to go side-to-side in a pinch, between the legs, behind the back and hesitation moves. Ntilikina is also a capable shot maker on pull-ups, even flashing some three-point range when he gets to step into the shot.
The Frenchman is a smart defensive player that understand game very well. He can press opposing ball-handlers very effectively and has excellent reach for a point guard (six-foot-11 wingspan) to generate steals. He shows pride in defense and has potential for becoming pesky defender. Frank fights over the screens, recovers from weak side. He is quick enough to recover even when he goes under the screens. Ntilikina plays the game with intensity and is a real competitor.
He is a true floor general, plays very unselfish and a great teammate. He has a great feel for the game and good physical tools together with good court vision. Frank Ntilikina is blossoming and he's fast becoming one of the most talented play-makers of this inaugural season of the Basketball Champions League. Despite being only 18 years old, the performances of the dynamic point guard within his own age group are turning heads and have put him in the NBA radar already. He should be one of the first guards off the board, and among the first international players to be selected in next June’s draft. For sure, the ultra-talented Ntilikina has a bright NBA future ahead.
