Lausanne, Switzerland, November 15, 2016 - Nine participants in next year's FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship in Ljubljana and Maribor, Slovenia from August 27 to September 3 are now known following Egypt's victory at the African Women's U23 Championship in Nairobi, Kenya at the end of October. They will be joined by two countries from Asia and a team from the world ranking to be confirmed at the beginning of 2017.

A total of twelve teams will compete in the 2017 edition of the Women's U23 World Championship, two from each confederation plus the competition hosts (Slovenia) and one team from the world ranking to be confirmed at the beginning of 2017.
