The Englishman now has 89 goals in his MLS career, ranking 11th all-time while scoring more goals (88) over a five-year span than any player in MLS history. New York sits third in the Eastern Conference standings with six points (2-1-0 record), while Wright-Phillips is tied for third in the league with three goals scored this season.
Wright-Phillips then completed his brace in the 78th minute to give New York a 3-0 lead, finishing Alex Muyl’s perfectly placed pass with a chip from just inside the box over Lampson (Watch Goal). It was the 19th multi-goal performance in Wright-Phillips’ MLS regular season career.
