Mutch has penned a four-and-a-half year contract with the Eagles after spending just 25 weeks at Loftus Road, while Ameobi was a free agent after leaving Turkish side Gaziantep in December.
The 33-year-old Nigerian international has signed a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Ameobi is likely to need time to regain fitness after an unsuccessful stint in Turkey but Pardew said Mutch is ready to play and could make his debut against Everton on Saturday.
"Jordon's a player that caught my eye against my Newcastle side and he's a young player with potential," Pardew said. "It hasn't quite worked out for him at QPR so we've given him the opportunity to come and play here.
Ameobi's arrival means the Eagles manager now has seven first-team strikers at his disposal. "Shola will bring a wealth of experience to a young group of strikers," Pardew said.
"He's played at the top level more or less all his life and that experience will be important in this run-in. I'm really pleased to have him, not just as a player but as a character and a person at the training ground."
Pardew also revealed Palace striker Glenn Murray has agreed a one-year contract extension with the club.
Murray scored 31 goals in 45 appearances during the 2012/13 season to help the Eagles secure promotion from the Championship. He spent the first half of this season on loan at Reading but has been brought back into the side by Pardew.
