The competition, sponsored by the leading telecommunications network in Ghana, Scancom PLC (MTN Ghana), will involve clubs from the Division Two, the 48 Division One clubs and all the 16 Premier League clubs.
The 48 Division One clubs and 48 qualified Division Two will know their opponents after the first draw.
The competition returned about seven seasons ago and this year’s competition will be the seventh edition with Nania FC, New Edubiase FC, Medeama SC, Asante Kotoko SC, Medeama SC and Bechem United FC being the winners of the last six editions.
Bechem United FC won last season’s edition of the MTN FA Cup competition after beating soccer mountaineers, Okwawu United 2-1 in the final played at the new Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
The event will also be used to outdoor the competition’s new broadcast partner, StarTimes Ghana.
