Hedges, who earned his first call up to the U.S. Men’s National Team in February, averaged 4.8 interceptions per game – the fifth-best figure among MLS players this season.
In his first full season with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Kendall Waston led a defense that surrendered only 36 goals – tied with Seattle Sounders FC for the fewest in MLS. Waston played himself back into the Costa Rican National Team picture while averaging 6.8 clearances per game.
