Striker Ben Malango scored in either half as the DR Congo giants bounced back from a Kevin Mondeko early own goal, to grab a first leg cushioning and keep alive their hopes of a successful defence of the second-tier continental club championship title.
However, Malango who threatened the homers backline throughout the game evened the scores on 29 minutes with a shot from close range.
‘Les Corbeaux’ were the better side in the second half and Malango nailed the game with his second of the night eight minutes from time.
It was a bad weekend for Tunisia as their two representatives, Club Africain and CS Sfaxien suffered defeats on the road.
Club Africain lost by a lone goal away to Algeria’s MC Alger in Algiers with Nekkache Hichem’s first half strike separating the two sides.
Elsewhere in Rabat, Karim Benarif’s 19th minute penalty was all FUS Rabat needed to beat Sfaxien for a narrow first leg advantage.
Earlier on Friday, Supersport United of South Africa and Zambia’s Zesco United settled for a barren draw in Pretoria.
The second leg matches will take place next weekend.
