BAMAKO (FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016) - Four players from the Mali team that played at FIBA U17 World Championship have been included on the final roster for FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016 to be held in Kigali, Rwanda from 22-31 July.
In order to improve from the Third-Place accomplished at FIBA Africa U18 2014, head coach Kaba Kante chose Mahamadou Diawara, Lassana Haidara, Blaise Keita, and Moulaye Sissoko.
Early this month, Mali beat Argentina and Egypt to finish 15th in Zaragoza, Spain.
Keita, a 2.10m center was crucial at both ends of the floor, averaging 8.4 points and team-high 7.1 rebounds per contest, while 1.97m forward Haidara complemented Keita's effort with 8.3 points a 1.7 assist per game.
Kigali is set to host the 12-team competition for the second time since 2010.
