The Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars on Sunday departed Ivory Coast for Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo for their home tie against DR Congo in the second group D match of the 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers.
The squad arrived in Casablanca before boarding another flight to Kinshasa where they spent hours in getting full arrangement for their flight to Lubumbashi and after several consultation with airline authorities, the delegation departed Lubumbashi at 3:00 PM.
Leone Stars will play host to DR Congo at the Lubumbashi national Stadium after the Africa governing body, CAF ruled against the country hosting the said match in Freetown following the outbreak of the Ebola Virus.

Meanwhile, Head Coach Johnny McKinstry now has an uphill task to produce a better outcome in Lubumbashi if they want to keep their hopes alive and keep up the pace with Cameroun and Ivory Coast who both won their opening group matches.
Goals from Seydou Doumbia and Gervinho gave the Ivorians a comeback win over Sierra Leone after striker Kei Kamara first half stiker gave the visitors the lead and in the other group match Cameroon stunned DR Congo with a 2-0 victory.
Cameroon’s next tie is against Ivory Coast in Yaoundé as DR Congo travels to face Sierra Leone in DR Congo’s second largest city Lubumbashi – both ties are slated for Wednesday night 10-September 2014.
