The Mexican international had a spectacular week, recording four goals and three assists in two matches. Dos Santos got off to a hot start against Real Salt Lake, notching two goals and one assist in a wild 3-3 draw at Rio Tinto Stadium on Wednesday, followed by a two goal and two assist performance in a resounding 4-2 win over Orlando City SC at StubHub Center on Sunday. Dos Santos is now only one of two players league-wide to register double-digit goal and assist totals, with his 14 goals tied for fourth and his 11 assists tied for third. LA currently sits second in the Western Conference standings (47 points, 11-4-14), and is riding a five-game unbeaten streak.
Sunday was more of the same for dos Santos, who brought LA even after going down a goal with an easy tap in off a Boateng cross in the 35th minute (Watch Goal). Moments later, dos Santos assisted on Alan Gordon’s 38th minute tally pushing LA ahead 2-1 (Watch Assist). The 27-year-old completed his second brace in as many games with a penalty kick goal to give the Galaxy a 3-1 lead heading into the half (Watch Goal), and capped his performance with a second assist, setting up Robbie Keane in the 70th minute to make it 4-1 (Watch Assist).
