Experienced Okwawu United were beaten 2-1 by Bechem United in the fitting final at the new Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
The event which is sponsored by telecom giants, MTN Ghana also saw the clubs and players being rewarded in diverse forms with MTN products and others.
Before the final, there was a trophy tour to create awareness and inform the football public in the country and that was another success.
The two clubs that qualified to the final, Bechem United and Okwawu United played the final away from home so their supporters and fans have to be commended.
The coach of Okwawu, Ibrahim Meriga was in the team that won for Okwawu 30 years ago and wished to win again as a coach, but it could not happen.
By eliminating the great Asante Kotoko, the Bechem boys were not afraid of any body and that is another motivation for the Premiership side.
However, Okwawu who have featured many years in the top flight and are now wallowing in the wilderness wanted to prove that as a traditional club, they are still a force to reckon with in Ghana Football.
One other factor of the game was the presence of new Black Stars call up, Abednego Tetteh who gave a pass for the second goal.
The people of Cape Coast must be commended also though they did not fill the stadium for the grand final.
The better side that utilize the chances carried the day, officiating was fair and the fans comported themselves well to make this year’s FA Cup memorable.
