
Cairo, Egypt, January 10, 2017 – The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has confirmed that the 2017 Women’s African Club Championship will be held in Kelibia, Tunisia, from April 6 to 16.
Kelebia satisfied the new sponsoring regulations for CAVB competitions, which means that Tunisia will host both the men’s and women’s African Club Championships. The Men’s African Club Championship will run from March 17 to 27 in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.
The 2016 African Women’s Club Championship attracted 18 teams in the previous edition in Carthage, equalling the record set in 2008 in Cairo.
Defending champions Ahly of Egypt are the record holders with eight titles to their name, followed by Kenya Pipeline who have triumphed on seven occasions.
