Kamboi Eagles FC has on Wednesday confirmed they will not participate in the forthcoming football stakeholder’s premier league which is dubbed the ‘Sierra Leone National League’.
According to the Eagles Public Relations Officer, Ismael Sesay, the club’s chairman, Brima Mazzola Kamara insisted that they will not be part of the tournament.
“The chairman, Brima Mazzola Kamara confirmed that the club won’t participate in the forthcoming national premier league the stakeholders are organizing because it is not a sanctioned competition by the SLFA headed by Madam Isha Johansen,” Sesay said.
The Eagles became the second team to confirm their non-participation after FC Johansen-a team owned by the SLFA President-insisted that they will not compete in a tournament that is not sanctioned by the Football Association.
In related development a press release from the office of the SLFA Secretary General dated 26 January 2016, adviced members of SLFA to comply with the provision of the SLFA Statutes pursuant to (art) 13 (par) 1 a, on members, directives, and decision of FIFA, CAF, WAFU and SLFA.
The release warned that failure to comply with such obligation by any member, official, Coaches, and players etc, the SLFA will invoke the relevant provision pursuant to (art) 13. Par.2 of the SLFA Statues which talks about sanctions.
