The evening started with the Warriors Ring and Banner Unveiling Ceremony which went well amidst much fanfare, at long last former OKC Thunder; Kevin Durant who abandoned his teammates for greener pastures received the much-coveted NBA Championship Ring.
The script repeated itself as the Warriors came back in the second half with a barrage of three pointers leading by as much as 17 points at a point in the game. But as they say the race is not for the swift and strong but for the one that endure till the end and that is exactly what the Houston Rockets did; endure!! Stepping up their defense led by new Rockets P J Tucker and Luc Mbah Moute and perennial NBA all-star defender Trevor Ariza the Rockets were able to turn the tables and took the lead with less than a minute left in the game and did not look back to put the Warriors away 122 – 121.
