The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon from the Italia 1990 World Cup were promised houses after their quarterfinal appearance by Head of State, Paul Biya.
After 30 years, the promise was not fulfilled due to some claimed reasons.

Reports from Cameroon claim that keys to the houses will be presented to the 19 surviving players of the 1990 squad and families of the dead ones, in a handover ceremony slated for Thursday, August 27.
Then Captain of the team, Stephen Tataw, Benjamin Massing and Louis Paul Mfede died before promise fulfilled but it is expected that their families will receive their benefits.
Roger Milla will join 18 other living squad members in the ceremony.
The delay in fulfilling the promise was attributed to the country’s then Minister for Sports and Education inflating the number of beneficiaries from 22 to 44.
The number padding made it difficult for the administration to fulfill.
