The women’s high jump features the most prestigious field of the entire programme of the 2015 Golden Gala Pietro Mennea on Thursday 4th June in the Olympic Stadium where Stefka set the still-standing world record with 2.09m 28 years ago. The list of big stars continues with the Olympic champion Anna Chicherova, world champion Setlana Shkolina, European champion Ruth Beitia, reigning World Indoor champion Kamila Lichwinko (WL 1,97). It would not be possible to ask for more. It’s expected that the first two metres barrier of the outdoor season will be broken. Three athletes Hestrie Cloete, Yelena Slesarenko and Blanka Vlasic jointly hold the meeting record with 2.03m.
