After successfully taking sports to the market with Adwadifo Ampe Challenge, the popular traditional sport at the Kaneshie market, he has once again put up an accident and violence free community sports competition dubbed the Okaikoi Ga Homowo Sports Festival at the Bubuashie Bishop School Park.
Two events were competed, with football drawing the big patronage after ampe due to the affection for football and number of football talents and fans in the area,
16 teams registered to compete in football and Kaneshie Number One came as tops after beating Asase 5-4 on penalties.
Darling midfielder Stephen Ofori was adjuded the most exciting and valuable player on the field.
The best goalie and best coach from Game Boys were also given prizes.
Roji 1 also defeated Empress ‘O’ Babies in the ampe final to collect gold medals, a trophy and hamper from the sponsors of the event.
Among the dignitaries who graced the event and presented the medals and awards were the president of Greater Accra Market Women, Madam Mercy Nee Gyan, former PE instructor Maculley, William Ocansey, Bubuashie Manste Nii Ashie Komowua II, Hon. Alfred Adjei, the presiding member at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Hon. Clottey, special assistant to the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Abalo, Assembly member for Bubuashie and Rev. Akwei of the Bubuashie Anglican Church.
